Scariest thing I heard this year

Seriously, this absolutely sent chills up my spine:

Al Qaida terrorists still plot to inflict catastrophic harm on America, and [Obama is] worried that someone won't read them their rights.

But that fear, as bad as it was, was incredibly trumped just scants seconds later when the whole fucking crowd actually CHEERED that statement!

Holy shit, how fucking crazy has the GOP become?? Do we not know what the fundamental principles of America are anymore?

The fear mongering and the "not my fault" rhetoric of the GOP is so pervasively over the top that I am inured to it. They see enemies everywhere from the single mom to the Koran-reading brown person. Even chicks that wear a lot of pants seem scary to them. These so called "enemies" are of their own paranoid making.

It just motivated me to give to the Obama. I may not be thrilled overall with anything relating to the federal government, but it has to be a step in the right direction when at least we might get more environmental controls, a real sustainable energy policy, a rollback of the no child left behind debacle, a bit more corporate accountability and an end to a stupid war.

The whole thing was disturbingly similar to this. The cult-like chanting was really sick. Remember kids, "Independent thought is doubleplusungood."
