In what should have been consistently huge news in the US (and which Professor did blog about here), Jason Kottke has news on what may be some discoveries of potential cures for the Bee Colony Collapse Disorder.

But, of course, the corporate media prefers things like Anna Nicole and teabagging. After all, why would the potential of the collapse of virtually the entire food chain be interesting to anyone?

I've also read that in some places colony declines have to do with a lack of suitable pollen sources. We have fewer overall orchards and native wildflowers, fewer also with non-modified species and less regional variety.
